Ariana Grande Shares First Snippet Of New Song 'Imagine': Listen

Craving something sweet? Ariana Grande just served up the first taste of her new song.

Last night (December 13), the elusive pop singer shared a preview of her brand new track "Imagine" on her Instagram Stories, equipped with an updated countdown to her single's fast-approaching premiere. "Imagine a world like that/ imagine a world," the 25-year-old appears to sing in the opening chorus of the seconds-long snippet. "Baby direct it, name in the credits/ Like the movies do."

The ballad will serve as the second single to release from Grande's upcoming fifth studio album, Thank U, Next. The record's lead single of the same name arrived to massive acclaim when it debuted in November.

Listen below.

As fans have previously pointed out, the "Light Is Coming" star first teased her "thank u, next" follow-up in the music video for "Breathin," a track from her fourth studio album Sweetener, which released in August.

According to Grande herself, "Imagine" will essentially serve as an opposite track to "thank u, next," as she explained via Twitter: "I would say if 'thank u, next' = acceptance… 'imagine' = denial."

Additionally, she stated the tune "will balance the energy between thank u, next and seven rings nicely as those are super self assured / commanding and this one is more vulnerable / unsure," she explained. "I wanted to mix up the energy a lil bit as both of those themes are equally prevalent on the album / in my life rn."

Ariana Grande is hitting our eardrums with a new track this week.

"Imagine" releases tonight (December 13) at midnight EST.
