Taylor Swift has something big up her sleeve â at least that's what fans are thinking after a series of mysterious countdown posts on social media.
Swifties are convinced the "Fortnight" singer has a big announcement coming soon after Swift's official social team Taylor Nation has shared a post every day since Friday (July 18) honoring each of her albums in chronological order, starting with her self-titled debut album, followed by Fearless, Speak Now, Red and 1989.
According to Cosmopolitan, the posts have included information for a listening party for each era but with a different time each day, such as Fearless at 2 p.m., Speak Now at 3 p.m., Red at 4 p.m. and so on. As many fans have posited, it appears to be a countdown, but for what is up for debate.
Some believe the series of posts could be leading to an announcement for Swift's 12th album while others think a documentary about her highly-successful Eras Tour could be on the way. Other Swifties still appear to hope that she will drop her re-recorded debut album but Taylor's Version, especially since she revealed in May that she had "completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now" when she announced she had bought the masters to her first six albums.
"I smell the tour doc coming đ„čâ€ïž I can't believe she owns it all," one commenter wrote on Instagram, while another offered their own suggestion, "I'm calling Its a merch countdown or a eras documentary."
However, other Swifties poked fun at fans' tendency for spotting easter eggs and reading into what they see as secret messages and hints.
"I'm gonna giggle so hard if this countdown just leads to nothing đđ," one user said, as another joked, "if yall are trolling us once again i won't forgive yall!!! đ" and a third fan quipped, "get in kids, we're heading to clowntown."
What do you think Swift has planned?
